West Fraser Curtails Production at Three Sawmills in British Columbia
Print

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 27 July 2009 -- West Fraser today announced additional lumber production curtailments at three of its British Columbia sawmills in response to continuing weak markets and a strengthening Canadian dollar.

West Fraser intends to implement market-related curtailments at each of its Houston, 100 Mile, and Chasm sawmills. Curtailments will be implemented by shutdowns of the three facilities for at least two weeks commencing 04 August 2009. The decision to restart operations is dependent upon market conditions, which will be reviewed on an ongoing basis.

West Fraser is an integrated wood products company producing lumber, LVL, MDF, plywood, pulp, linerboard, kraft paper, and newsprint. West Fraser shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “WFT.”
