Wemhoener of Germany Invests in Changzhou High-Tech Zone

Changzhou, China, 18 June 2007 -- /Xinhua-PRNewswire/ -- Wemhoener (Changzhou) Machinery Manufacturing Co. Ltd. held a landing and opening ceremony in the Changzhou National High-Tech Zone, Jiangsu Province on 08 June.

The initial total investment in the company is USD 6 million and its registered capital is USD 4.5 million. It mainly produces complete wood equipment for processing composite floorboards, formed door boards, and cupboard boards. It is reported that this is the first overseas production and sales base of Wemhoener of Germany.

Wemhoener (Changzhou) Machinery Manufactury Co. Ltd is a wholly owned subsidiary of Wemhoener group in Germany. Wemhoener group is the largest manufacturer of complete wood equipment in the world and its total worldwide sales were USD 125 million in 2006.

At the opening ceremony, the chairman of Wemhoener donated the first scholarships of RMB 200,000 to the Xinbei District Charity Foundation and said, "From now on, we are a member of the Changzhou City instead of an 'outsider.' This donation only expresses our sincerity and we hope to give a little help to students who have difficulty attending school. We will continue to make donations in the future." On that day, the mother, sons and grandsons of the chairman of Wemhoener planted a maidenhair tree on the green land of the company, a symbol that the company would grow together with the long-living maidenhair tree.

Wemhoener is located in Herford in the north of Germany. Formerly another company of the city invested RMB 10 million in Xinbei District and established Schieder Furniture Co., Ltd. On the same day, Herford and the Changzhou High- Tech Zone (in Xinbei District) signed a letter of intent to forge a friendly relationship between them.
