Comment Print
Heidenheim, Germany, 17 June 2008 -- Norske Skog has awarded Voith the contract for a rebuild of the former on the PM 1 in Skogn, Norway. The project will include installation of DuoFormer D hybrid technology.

Before the contract award, Voith performed a preproject study and paper machine trials for PM 1. The test results confirmed the rebuild potential in terms of improving paper quality. PM 1 produces newsprint at an operating speed of 1250 m/min.

The three paper machines at Norske Skog Skogn in western Norway produce around 600,000 tons/year of newsprint furnish composed of approximately two thirds of thermomechanical pulp and one third of deinked pulp.

Voith Paper is a group division of Voith and one of the leading partners of the paper industry. Voith Paper optimizes the paper making process with constant innovation. More than one third of the world’s paper production is produced on Voith Paper machines. Voith has a current workforce of 37,000, sales of EUR 4 billion, and more than 270 locations worldwide. It is one of the largest family-owned enterprises in Europe.
