Trump announces 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada, additional 10% on China starting March 4


U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Thursday, Feb. 27, that his proposed 25% tariffs on Mexican and Canadian goods will take effect on March 4 as planned.

He cited continued drug trafficking, including fentanyl, as the reason for the tariffs.

Additionally, Trump stated that a new 10% tariff on Chinese imports will begin the same day, adding to the 10% duty imposed on February 4.
