Smurfit Kappa Group appoints CEO for Smurfit Kappa North America

Smurfit Kappa Group appointed Eduardo Rubio CEO for Smurfit Kappa North America (SKNA) beginning October 1.
Rubio is a Chartered Accountant, with an MBA from the New York Institute of Technology. Before his current position as Vice President for the SKNA Mexican Corrugated operations, Rubio was Director of Finance for the Packaging Group, General Manager for the Tijuana Box Plant, and Regional General Manager of the Baja California area with the incorporation of the Mexicali Sheet Plant to his responsibilities. He joined the company in 2010.
Rubio´s experience in the industry, his deep market understanding and his innovative commercial perspective will continue delivering growth for customers and stakeholders in SKNA.
The SKNA operations include 13 corrugated operations and 1 folding carton plant both in the U.S. and Northern Mexico, a paper mill in Forney, TX, and several recycling facilities. SKNA is also a leading producer of honeycomb with 3 plants in Northern Mexico and also 4 packaging solutions plants. The operation also includes the regional Experience Center in Dallas and a sales office in Chicago.
Rubio will be based in Dallas, reporting to Juan G. Castaneda, CEO Smurfit Kappa The Americas.
