BID Group announces a new partnership with ArbaBlox Inc. to build its first state-of-the-art turnkey composite pallet block plant in Winona, Mississippi.

Moelven is investing in five continuous kilns and the Valmatics 4.0 control system to its three sawmills in Scandinavia. It's the most extensive single order the Moelven Group has ever placed with Valutec.

Kemira is implementing a 4% energy surcharge for all Pulp and Paper process and functional chemistries across North America for all non-contract customers, effective October 1, 2022. The surcharge announced in April for inorganic coagulants sold through Kemira's Industry & Water segment remains in effect.

International technology group Andritz has acquired J. Parpala Oy, a major player in the maintenance and repair of environmental equipment for industrial production and power generation plants in Finland. The company was founded in 2011 and operates sites in Kokkola and Kaskinen.

Valmet will supply pulp technology equipment for a new pulp stream of unbleached kraft pulp to Zellstoff Pöls AG, Austria. The company is a part of the Heinzel group. The delivery is planned for June 2023. The value of the order will not be disclosed.

Turkish cardboard manufacturer KMK Paper selected Toscotec for the complete rebuild of PM1 at its Kahramanmaraş paper mill in Turkey. Scheduled for the 1Q 2023, the project will increase the machine's production capacity and significantly improve paper quality. PM1 produces packaging paper grades, including fluting, testliner, kraft paper, and gypsum board.

Andritz has received an order from Yuen Foong Yu Consumer Products Co., Ltd. (CPG) to supply a PrimeLineCOMPACT M1600 tissue production line (PM10) to its mill located in Chingshui, Taiwan, Republic of China. Start-up is scheduled for the 4Q 2023.

Solenis, a leading global producer of specialty chemicals, will implement an energy surcharge on all products and product lines of up to 20% on all orders shipped on or after September 1, 2022, for all customers across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa (EMEA).

Valmet further develops its press felt production facilities in Tampere, Finland, by investing in new press felt machinery and equipment. The investment includes a new pre-needling line and a new needling line. The amount of the investment is around Euro 18 million.

Kahramanmaraş Kağıt Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. (KMK Paper) has selected AFT for their PM1 approach flow rebuild project at the Kahramanmaraş mill. PM1 is a 2-ply board machine using 100% OCC to produce corrugating medium and linerboard grades. The new system is scheduled to start up in the first quarter of 2023.

Kemira Oyj announces change in Management Board. Antti Salminen has been appointed to lead Kemira's Pulp & Paper segment as of August, 15. He's had several prior leadership positions in Kemira, latest as President, Industry & Water segment and has been a member of Kemira's management board since 2011. He has a PhD in engineering.

ABB has been appointed by Klabin, Brazil's largest producer and exporter of packaging paper and sustainable solutions for paper packaging, to deliver the management and power distribution system (PDS) for their Puma II Project, which will support their production target of 920,000 tons per year.
