Phoenix Paper finished a $5 million recommissioning project for its pulp dryer at its Wickliffe Mill. The addition of the pulp dryer will allow Phoenix Paper to more efficiently operate the back end of the mill, as well as add a secondary product of baled pulp.

The Putnam County Fire Department ramped up to battle a sawdust fire Tuesday morning, Aug. 31, at the Georgia-Pacific facility just north of Palatka, even requesting assistance from neighboring Clay County.

This past Friday, Aug. 27, a Sonoco warehouse on Stults Road in South Brunswick caught fire for the second time this year. The origins of the fire are unknown at this time and are under investigation by the South Brunswick Fire Safety Bureau.
