Boise Cascade Company announced the promotion of four of its business leaders.

The Nomination Committee of Essity Aktiebolag (publ) proposes that Jan Gurander be appointed Chairman and member of Essity's Board of Directors at the Annual General Meeting in March 2024. As previously announced, Essity's current Chairman of the Board, Pär Boman, has declined re-election.

The Engineered Wood Association's (APA) has elected a new chair, vice chair, finance committee chair and two new members.

Mark McHugh named President and CEO, effective April 1, 2024.

The Board of Directors appointed Aleksey Lomko as CEO of JSC Ilim Group effective from October 30, 2023.

Metsä Board, part of Metsä Group, will initiate change negotiations on possible temporary layoffs for its paperboard and BCTMP mills in Finland. The negotiations involve a total of approximately 1,100 employees at the Joutseno, Kaskinen, Kemi, Kyro, Tampere, Simpele and Äänekoski mills.

Massimo Reynaudo has been appointed President and CEO of UPM-Kymmene Corporation as of 1 January 2024. Jussi Pesonen will continue as the President and CEO until 31 December 2023, after which he will work as an advisor to the Company and its management until he will retire from UPM on 30 April, 2024.

Metsä Group is conducting a pre-study related to the construction of a first commercial mill for producing Muoto packaging products on its Rauma mill site, Finland. The goal is to determine the mill's technical feasibility and economic profitability.

IP announces plans to permanently close its Orange mill and to permanently cease production on pulp machines in Riegelwood and Pensacola.

SEE announced that its Board of Directors and Ted Doheny have mutually agreed to transition SEE's leadership. Mr. Doheny has stepped down as President and Chief Executive Officer and as a member of the Board, effective immediately. He will continue to serve SEE in an advisory capacity to assist in the transition. Effective immediately, Emile Chammas, Chief Operating Officer, and Dustin Semach, Chief Financial Officer, are appointed Interim Co-Presidents and Co-CEOs, in addition to their current roles.

The Nomination Committee of SCA proposes that Helena Stjernholm be elected as chairman and member of the SCA board at the annual general meeting on March 22, 2024. SCA's current chairman, Pär Boman, as previously communicated, has declined re-election.

Roseburg Forest Products is pleased to announce that Stuart Gray officially assumed the role of president and CEO on Oct. 1, 2023, finalizing a leadership transition first announced in July of this year. Grady Mulbery, who served as the company's top leader for the past seven years, retired on Sept. 30.

Curtailment extended another month for paper operations.

By building the new TMP line at Skogn, the Company ensures that it can produce on all machines without recycled fibres.

In all, 516 workers will be without jobs when the shutdown is complete, and nearly 2,000 additional loggers will have to find buyers elsewhere. The mill is expected to be closed by year's end.

SCA's new facility in Obbola, outside Umeå, Sweden, has now been inaugurated. This means that the paper mill has the world's largest machine for kraftliner and with it a significantly increased capacity to produce climate-smart packaging material.

Ms. Khanna is currently Executive Vice President and Chief Business Leader, Personal Health, for Royal Philips, a health technology company, a position she has held since 2020, while serving on the company's Executive Committee.

Niklas Beyes is appointed CFO and a member of Ahlstrom's Executive Management Team as of September 15, 2023. Current CFO Jorn P. Jensen will leave Ahlstrom on September 15 to pursue new opportunities outside the company.

International Paper announced that Chairman and CEO Mark Sutton has requested that the Board of Directors move forward with the next phase of the company's CEO succession plan. This phase in the process will include a comprehensive evaluation of internal and external candidates for Sutton's successor. Sutton will continue in his role as chairman and CEO until his successor is in place.
