SCA Top-Ranked in Sweden for Carbon Dioxide Reporting
Print
Stockholm, Sweden, 20 October 2010 -- SCA has been named the number one Swedish company – and the number three in the Nordic region – in terms of carbon-dioxide reporting. These were the results of the annual, global Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP) survey. The CDP project acts on behalf of 534 institutional investors, including Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs, and HSBC, which use the survey as an evaluation tool.

“The carbon dioxide issue has been a prominent item on our agenda for years. We are aware of that systematic reporting and follow-up are necessary if we are to be effective in our efforts to reduce emissions and save energy,” said Kersti Strandqvist, senior vice president for sustainability at SCA.

In addition to the classification in the general report, SCA also has qualified for inclusion in the Nordic Carbon Disclosure Leadership Index 2010, which documents the 20 Nordic exchange-listed companies that have the most professional and serious approach to corporate governance regarding the issue of carbon-dioxide reporting.

The CDP’s sub-report, Annual Nordic 200 Report, which includes SCA, contains 200 Nordic exchange-listed companies. The 534 institutional investors which CDP acts on behalf of have USD 64 trillion in assets under management.
