Ready or not, it looks like petroleum is passé
Comment Print

I am always telling the Paperitalo audience that energy has nothing to do with technology, it has everything to do with politics. This was confirmed a couple of weeks ago. As reported in the New York Post, in a press conference with Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida on 23 May 2022, President Biden said, "[When] it comes to the gas prices, we're going through an incredible transition that is taking place that, God willing, when it's over, we'll be stronger and the world will be stronger and less reliant on fossil fuels when this is over. (sic)"

How on earth do we plan for running our pulp and paper mills if this is the attitude?

We are also seeing shortages in the pulp and paper industry. For more on these, listen to the May Wire Side Chat here.

Keep calm and make paper.
