Pesmel delivered fully automated warehouse for De Jong Packaging Group
Comment Print

Pesmel has delivered a fully automated high-bay warehouse for De Jong Packaging Group, part of Stora Enso's Packaging Solutions division. The expansion adds a new, second factory to the De Lier site equipping the facility with two new corrugators to augment the existing two. As a result of the expansion, the site is now the largest and most modern corrugated packaging facility in Europe.

Pesmel's nine-level-high, fully automated board roll warehouse works as a raw material buffer for the corrugators. It handles and stores wrapped or unwrapped linerboard and fluting rolls. And the Warehouse Management System (WMS) from Pesmel controls the entire material flow - from receipt of raw material, via the intermediate storage, and then on to the corrugators. This includes managing the automated warehouse, conveyors, and Automatic Guided Vehicles (AGVs) which feed the corrugator pockets.

Founded in 1978 and headquartered in Finland, Pesmel has 45 years of experience in delivering solutions that improve material flows and logistics at different types of warehousing and manufacturing facilities.
