Mondi's Syktyvkar Mill Project to Begin
Print
London, England, 07 December 2007 -- Following the settlement of a number of major conditions including conversion of forestry rights, Mondi will now execute its EUR 525 million project to modernize and expand the Syktyvkar pulp and paper mill in the Komi Republic in Russia. All main equipment contracts have been agreed and construction is to commence in April 2008, with completion scheduled by the end of 2010.

The project will enhance Syktyvkar’s low cost position, with the additional volume of uncoated fine paper and containerboard being supplied to the high growth domestic Russian market.
