Metsä Board's change negotiations have been completed
Print

FINLAND (News release) -- On October 26, 2023, Metsä Board announced that it will commence change negotiations regarding possible layoffs at the company's paperboard and BCTMP mills in Finland. Potential layoffs would last a maximum of 90 days and could be implemented in several installments during 2024. A total of 1,100 people were involved in the change negotiations at Metsä Board's seven mill locations in Joutseno, Kaskinen, Kemi, Kyröskoski, Tampere, Simpele and Äänekoski.

Change negotiations have now been completed and possible layoffs will be decided separately. The reason for the layoffs is to adjust production to meet the low delivery volumes.
