Mercer International completes acquisition of Holzindustrie Torgau

NEW YORK (News release) -- Mercer International Inc. has completed its previously-announced acquisition of all of the shares of the parent company of Holzindustrie Torgau (HIT).

Juan Carlos Bueno, CEO, stated: "We are very excited about the acquisition of HIT and the expansion of our solid wood operations in Germany. I want to welcome all of the HIT employees to the Mercer team."

Mercer International Inc. is a global forest products company with operations in Germany, the USA and Canada with a consolidated annual production capacity of 2.3 million tonnes of pulp, 550 million board feet of lumber, and 140 thousand m3 of cross-laminated timber.
