Print
San Francisco, California, USA, 28 March 2011 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Lombard Investments, Inc. announced today that it has sold its 23% stake in paper packaging manufacturer, S.Pack & Print Public Company to Oji Paper Company, realizing a 3.5 times return. Oji Paper, founded in 1873 and based in Chuo-ku, Tokyo, is Japan's leading paper packaging and related product manufacturer.

Lombard invested in the then privately held company through its Thailand Equity Fund to facilitate financial restructuring, a subsequent IPO, and expansion. During Lombard's holding period, the company built a strong market position that benefited from Thailand's growing export trade. Pote Videt, managing director of Lombard, said "We are very pleased to have worked with S.Pack's capable management, led by its founder, Yuth Chinsupakul, to improve efficiency and enhance performance.  Moreover, we believe that through Oji's involvement, the company will continue its pattern of strong growth and superior financial performance."

Established in 1982, S.Pack has grown steadily to become one of Thailand's leading paper packaging companies, operating factories in Had Yai District, Songkhla Province, and Bangkok. S.Pack provides high grade commercial printing and corrugated box services and products for multinational companies, including airlines and producers of latex gloves, consumer electronics, and convenience foods.

Lombard is a leading international private equity investment manager with offices in Bangkok, Hong Kong, and San Francisco, and extensive working relationships in Ho Chi Minh City, Manila, Shanghai, and Taipei.
