Green Energy Resources Begins Export of Woodchips to Europe
Print

Albany, New York, USA, 20 July 2009 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Green Energy Resources (Pink Sheets: GRGR) has begun the export of woodchips from Albany, New York. The woodchips are used to generate renewable energy in Europe in place of traditional fossil fuels. The export of woodchips comes at an opportune time when loggers and saw mills have been hard hit by the economy and several regional power generators are not buying woodchips. The company plans to ship 30,000-60,000 tons monthly from the area, generating numerous jobs and approximately USD 20-25 million annually in local revenues. The first shipment is planned for August.

Recycled wood derived from crushed pallets and forestry woodchips are in high demand by Green Energy. The company is seeking to expand its number of suppliers from as far away as Connecticut, Massachusetts, and New York City. Green Energy Resources signed a long-term contract with a port contractor in the Albany, New York, area that can handle large ocean-going vessels. Green Energy Resources plans to use the port as a major base of operations for upcoming power generating projects in New England and the export market in the upcoming years.

Green Energy Resources is an environmentally friendly company sourcing its wood from urban wood waste streams, storm damage, cities, municipalities, and certified forests. The company is currently engaged in the supply of woodchips to power plants. Additional information is available at www.greenenergyresources.com
