Georgia-Pacific Completes Acquisition
Print

Atlanta, Georgia, USA 18 July 2013 -- Today is an exciting day at Georgia-Pacific. We completed our asset acquisition of the Temple-Inland Building Products business from International Paper Co. and are pleased to welcome more than 1,800 talented employees to Georgia-Pacific.

We’re looking forward to combing our best practices and strengthening our existing team of approximately 35,000 dedicated employees.

Also coming into the fold are valuable assets that fit well into our existing operations. This includes 15 U.S. facilities strategically located near large, growing regions of building products customers across eight states: Alabama, Arkansas, Georgia, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas. Teams at these facilities manufacture products including fiberboard, gypsum products, lumber, medium density fiberboard (MDF) and particleboard.

So why is this a great time to add to our business? At Georgia-Pacific, we take a long-term view on investment. As the housing industry continues its slow recovery, we want to ensure our ability to grow with our customers’ needs. This investment will create value for our company and the communities where we operate by allowing us to reach new customers and serve existing customers even better.
