Sustainable Chemicals: EarthChem™ includes paper and film direct thermal products that are made with chemicals that pose little to no threat to human health and the environment, via biodegradability. For this pillar, Appvion boasts a patent-pending phenol-free chemistry derived from natural sources, ensuring minimal impact on human health and the environment.

Sustainable Materials: Products within this pillar have physical materials within environmentally friendly properties, such as materials sourced from circular economy models. For instance, the base stock to Appvion's direct thermal label product Résiste® 15% PCW E is manufactured using recycled paper materials, reducing carbon footprint and promoting a sustainable, circular economy.

Sustainable Applications: Products within this pillar have a sustainable feature that applies to how a human interacts with it. For example, any Appvion product that is recyclable, compostable, dispersible, or recyclable through repulping programs would fall under this pillar.
