Consider the Light Green Machine Institute
Comment Print

The Light Green Machine Institute has been around for over a decade. Currently it has an international Board of Directors from all walks of life in the pulp and paper industry, from operating mills to academia and suppliers. It is a 501 C3 in the IRS parlance.

The Institute is currently assembling committees to tackle some tough projects that mills face every day. The Institute is approaching these in a different way than others have in the past. It is seeking committee members with engineering, economics and materials expertise. The intent is to build standards that have more than just technical solutions to today's challenges but offer the whole package to users. Committee members will get a chance to cross train with others in the various fields of expertise.

I urge you to carefully consider involving your team. You can reach out to me at jim.thompson@ipulpmedia.com and I can direct you to the appropriate board member.

Jim Thompson is CEO of Paperitalo Publications.
