Arctic Paper Closes Fine Paper Machine PM 7 at Grycksbo
Print

Poznan, Poland 14 March 2019 -- Fine paper production had been standing still for a while, but now the decision is definite: PM 7 at Arctic Paper's Swedish Grycksbo site has been shut down.

Swedish-Polish fine paper manufacturer Arctic Paper has definitely idled the PM 7 at its Grycksbo mill in Sweden. A company spokesperson told EUWID the machine had been shut down on 1 March.

PM 7 has the capacity to produce 45,000 tpy of woodfree coated paper. It is the smallest of three machines at the Grycksbo site and the less efficient one, according to Arctic Paper. After the closure, the site now has a capacity of 250,000 tpy of fine paper, says the spokesperson.

Production at PM 7 had already been standing still since around October last year. The machine was reportedly used as a swing machine and only in times when there was demand.

Arctic Paper operates a total of three paper mills in Grycksbo and Mundedals in Sweden as well as in Kostrzyn in Poland. The combined capacity at the three mills exceeds 700,000 tpy of graphic paper.
