Ainsworth Plans Downtime at Bemidji OSB Plant

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 03 October 2006 -- Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. announced that it plans to curtail production at the company's oriented strand board (OSB) facility in Bemidji, Minnesota, USA, from 16 October to 29 October 2006, to perform scheduled maintenance activities.

The Bemidji plant has an annual production capacity of approximately 350 million square feet (3/8-inch basis).
