West Fraser Timber to Sell Skeena Sawmills Division

Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, 04 April 2011 – West Fraser today announced that it has entered into an agreement to sell its Skeena Sawmills Division to ROC Holdings Ltd. The Skeena Sawmills Division includes the Terrace sawmill and related Crown timber tenures. The Terrace sawmill has a single shift capacity of 90 million board feet per year. The sale, which is subject to the satisfaction of normal closing conditions, is expected to be completed in 2011.

West Fraser is an integrated wood products company producing lumber, wood chips, LVL, MDF, plywood, pulp, and newsprint. The company has operations in western Canada and the
southern United States.

West Fraser shares trade on the Toronto Stock Exchange under the symbol “WFT.”
