Voith Paper to Rebuild Shinho Paper's PM 1 in Korea
Print
Heidenheim, Germany, 04 July 2006 -- Shinho Paper, a leading paper manufacturer in Korea, has placed an order with Voith Paper for the rebuild of their PM 1 in Shintanjin, which will take place in summer 2007.

PM 1 at Shintanjin, with a design width of 5.900 mm, is producing woodfree printing and writing and coating base paper in a basis weight range from 45 g/m2 to 120 g/m2.

Targets of the rebuild include increasing machine speed and improving runnability and threading performance. The core of this rebuild is the press section upgrade, where the NipcoFlex shoe press technology will provide maximum dryness levels. A redesign of the press framing will give better accessibility and threading. The threading into the size press will be upgraded to a Fibron vacuum tail threading unit to ensure optimum threading results.

Voith Paper is a division of the Voith Group and one of the leading partners to the paper industry. More than one third of the world's paper production is produced on Voith Paper machines. The company has approximately 30,000 employees, a turnover of EURO 3.5 billion, and more than 200 locations world-wide.
