Second half pricing is looking a bit soft in the containerboard industry and in other paper grades. Sovereign debt issues, particularly in the United States and Europe, as well as a thoroughly depressed housing market, are matters rippling through economies everywhere. The "Arab Spring" is not helping, either. Here at Paperitalo Publications, we are expecting a tough second half on the market side but, interestingly, not so much of a downer on the capital side. Companies have money and seem to be taking this time to reposition themselves for a brighter operating future.
