Tembec Takes Market-Related Downtime at Pine Falls, Manitoba

Temiscaming, Quebec, Canada, 17 December 2008 – Tembec announced today that it will shut down its Pine Falls, Manitoba, newsprint facility for two weeks; production on 21 December 2008 and restart on 05 January 2009.
 
Management has informed employees of the company’s decision.

The Pine Falls newsprint facility produces 185,000 metric tons annually.

Tembec is a large, diversified and integrated forest products company and a global leader in sustainable forest management practices. With operations principally located in North America and in France, the company employs approximately 7000 people.
