Print

Greenwich, Connecticut, USA, 10 June 2009 -- /PRNewswire/ -- SP Newsprint Co., LLC announced today that it will take market-related downtime at its mill in Dublin, Georgia, and will idle paper machine at its mill in Newberg, Oregon.

The Dublin mill will be down from 05 June 2009 through 21 June 2009. This curtailment will result in approximately 25,000 metric tons of reduced production. SP Newsprint will maintain adequate inventories to ensure that its customers will not experience any service interruptions during the shut-down.

SP Newsprint will temporarily idle paper machine number five at its mill in Newberg, effective 18 June 2009. Paper machine number five produces approximately 150,000 metric tons of newsprint annually. The mill will continue to operate its paper machine number six and will use 100% deink fiber to produce 100% recycled newsprint.

SP Newsprint Co., LLC is the fourth largest newsprint manufacturer in North America, with approximately 900,000 metric tons of newsprint production capacity. SP Newsprint operates mills in Dublin, Georgia, and Newberg, Oregon, and operates 23 recycling facilities through its subsidiary, SP Recycling Corporation.
