Power Outage Causes Problems
Print

Rhinelander, Wisconsin, USA 26 May 2014 -- The paper mill in Rhinelander wants to get back on track after a partial power outage caused some problems earlier Sunday.

Firefighters were called to the Expera Specialty Solutions mill around 2:30 Sunday afternoon because a lot of smoke was coming out of the building.

Company representatives told us they had a partial power outage. The outage caused its effluent plant to flood. Water overflowed into the Wisconsin River.

The mill's employees were eventually able to stabilize the plant's water levels and stop the water from going into the river. Work at the mill was slowed down because of the incident, but they hope to get back on track soon.

No one was hurt during the accident.
