Print

Barcelona, Spain 13 August 2015 -- Corrugated packaging company Hinojosa will rebuild the former Torraspapel paper mill to produce recycled containerboard.

Spain's corrugated board and packaging company Hinojosa Group has acquired the idle Sarrià de Ter paper mill from Lecta. According to the Government of Catalonia, the deal was finalised at end of July. Hinojosa Group plans to hire about 40 people at the site and invest about €25m to convert it to recycled containerboard production.

Sarrià de Ter mill was operated until last October by Lecta's subsidiary Torraspapel. Lecta decided to shut down the mill and transfer production activities to other sites of the group in Spain. The mill houses one paper machine with an installed capacity of 65,000 tpy of woodfree uncoated base and specialty papers.
