Hamburger Containerboard Purchases Paper Machine for New Paper Mill in Turkey

Vienna, Austria 18 January 2018 -- Hamburger Turkey Ltd., part of Hamburger Containerboard, has purchased a new paper machine from Valmet for its recently announced paper mill project in Kütahya, Turkey.

The Valmet machine will have a width of 7,80m and an annual production capacity of 480.000 tonnes containerboard. It will produce mainly light-weight Testliner and Fluting.

"With Valmet we already had positive experience in the past. The environmentally friendly technology and the outstanding production capabilities convinced us to partner up again. With the signing of this contract the next milestone of our capacity expansion in Turkey(Küthaya) has been realized." said Harald Ganster, MD of Hamburger Containerboard Division.

"We are happy that one of our next Containerboard projects is on a good path. It is an important step to achieve our goal of doubling the Group in size by 2030." added Cord Prinzhorn, CEO of Prinzhorn Group.

The Hamburger Containerboard Division operates seven paper mills in four countries with 2 Mio tonnes of produced container board per year. The two existing paper mills in Turkey are based in Corlu and Denizli and operate under the Hamburger Turkey brand.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY: We are a large automation company that has a line of consistency transmitters, sample valves and sheet break detectors that are marketed through a rep. network. We are seeking someone with a strong background in consistency control to facilitate start-ups, provide troubleshooting and technical advice. The individual should have experience in all major types of consistency measurement technologies (blade, rotary, microwave and optical). Knowledge of sheet break detection technology is desirable as well. Willingness to travel to paper production facilities across the US is a must.

Travel & Living Expenses to be reimbursed along with an agreed upon daily per diem rate.
