Print

London, England, 18 December 2009 -- /PRNewswire/ -- Greycon, a leading developer of optimization-based solutions for production planning, scheduling, and execution in the paper, film, and converting industries, today announced it has joined the prestigious Industry Value Network group for forest and paper. The group brings SAP customers together with leading-edge software vendors, technology vendors, systems integrators, and SAP to focus on key priority business needs and opportunities in the forest and paper industry. Greycon has joined based upon SAP customer feedback and nominations.

The Industry Value Network group for forest and paper drives strong collaboration among members to accelerate co-innovation and provide integrated, multivendor solutions and services to support key end-to-end business processes for customers. This enables customers to benefit from a new level of interoperability, reduced total cost of ownership, and increased transparency and productivity across the entire value chain.

"We are proud to join the Industry Value Network group for forest and paper," said Constantine Goulimis, founder and chief executive officer of Greycon. "By working more closely with industry leaders and vendors, Greycon can help customers further extend the value of SAP solutions within the manufacturing plant. Our membership in the Industry Value Network cements further a relationship that has been growing over many years and has seen implementations at some of the biggest producers of paper products. These customers benefit from the unique competitive advantages provided by the intimate, bidirectional integration of our solutions."

Greycon brings broad knowledge of optimization-based solutions to the Industry Value Network, derived from its experience over 25 years working with customers in the paper, film, and packaging industries. Due to the adaptation work done by Greycon and SAP, the result of a trim optimization run can be easily processed further in SAP solutions. The recent developments support multilevel trim optimization; the reach of the integration therefore extends beyond primary production into secondary converting operations such as extruders, sheet cutters, and rewinders. Also supported are multicore architectures for improved calculation speed.

Greycon is a production planning and scheduling software company based in London, England, with branches in the United States, France, Uruguay, Finland, and China. Greycon was founded with the aim to develop state-of-the-art optimization-based solutions and products for the manufacturing industry. The company's suite of software applications fills an important gap within enterprise systems by leveraging existing SAP solutions and manufacturing system infrastructure.
