Europac to Build Corrugated Packaging Facility
Print

Tangiers, Morocco 16 January 2014 -- Europac is investing a total of €30m to boost its corrugated packaging capacities in Morocco.

Spanish paper and paper-based packaging company Europac is set for further growth in Morocco. The company announced that it has acquired 30,000 m² of land in the Tangier Automotive City (TAC) industrial zone where it plans to construct an integrated corrugated packaging facilitiy. The plans include the installation of one corrugator as well as three converting lines for corrugated containers. The mill is to be commissioned in the first half of 2015.

The move is part of a project which Europac launched in June last year with the start of its first facility in Morocco. Europac has since been producing heavy-duty boxes for the automotive industry on two converting lines. The existing activities are to be transferred to the new mill once it is built.

According to Europac, the total cost of the industrial project in Morocco will amount to €30m, including the final stage of the project which will see the installation of additional two converting lines at the new facility in Tangier.
