Chesapeake Stuttgart Installing Heidelberg Press
Comment Print

Stuttgart, Germany, 03 February 2011 -- Chesapeake Stuttgart is installing an advanced Heidelberg printing press, which will largely produce high quality cartons for the confectionery and personal care sectors, and is expected to be operational by the end of May.

The press is equipped with three coating units and nine offset printing units, which provide the ability to produce an unmatched range of special print finishes and effects. The press also is equipped with the latest perfecting technology, allowing cartons to be printed on both faces in a single machine pass. This fully automatic technology allows each sheet to travel smoothly with accurate print register accuracy. If perfecting is not used, the press can apply additional effects by overprinting acrylic gold or silver to a carton’s face.

In addition, the press is equipped with cold foiling technology making it possible to enhance images, texts, and logos, which can then be protected with an overcoat varnish.
