Arctic in Search of Buyer for German Mochenwangen Mill
Print

Poznan, Poland 29 July 2015 --Arctic Paper is planning to sell its German Mochenwangen mill. The site has a capacity of around 100,000 tpy of specialty papers.

Arctic Paper has put up for sale its German Mochenwangen paper mill in the south of the country. The company said it would simultaneously evaluate additional measures and options with the purpose of eliminating further losses at the site and does not rule out that production at Mochenwangen may be closed down.

The Mochenwangen site is an integrated mill which produces wood-containing, bulky book printing paper, offset paper, wall base paper and backing paper on two paper machines. The capacity of the machines sums up to around 100,000 tpy. The site has 180 employees.

The plans for Mochenwangen are part of Arctic Paper's profit improvement programme which aims at reducing costs by "not less than PLN50m (€12m) per year". The company expects that the elimination of losses caused by the German site will positively impact its consolidated results by PLN18m (€4.3m) in 2015.
