Ainsworth Announces Curtailment at High Level OSB Mill

Helsinki, Finland, 29 October 2007 -- Ainsworth Lumber Co. Ltd. today announced that its jointly owned Footner Forest Products Ltd. oriented strand board (OSB) mill at High Level, Alberta, Canada, will immediately begin to operate on a reduced production schedule for an indefinite period. In addition, Footner will be closed 17 December 2007 through 01 January 2008.
