Print

Springdale, Arkansas, USA, 26 February 2010 -- (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Advanced Environmental Recycling Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:AERT - News), a leading plastic recycler and manufacturer of green building products, announced today that the final approval for startup of AERT's new recycling facility in Watts, Oklahoma, was granted by the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality on 25 February 2010, with the initial run taking place that afternoon.

AERT's new recycling facility performed as expected and the recycled plastic processed through the system met initial quality specifications. As required by permit conditions, AERT will complete a series of tests over the next few weeks and the company will verify compliance with nameplate capacity during that period.

Recycling technologies at AERT's new facility will allow the company to recover previously difficult to recycle polyethylene sources creating a much broader range of feed stocks for AERT's composite manufacturing plants in Arkansas.

Since 1989, AERT has pioneered the use of recycled polyethylene plastic in the manufacture of composite building materials. With its constantly evolving portfolio of patented and proprietary recycling technologies, AERT is a leader in resource conservation innovation. AERT converts reclaimed plastic and wood fiber waste into quality outdoor decking systems, fence systems, and door and window components. AERT operates manufacturing facilities in Springdale and Lowell, with a raw materials facility in Junction, Texas, and a state-of-the-art recycling facility in Watts, Oklahoma.
